KNUST 2026 Cut-Off Points: Full List of Courses and Admission Aggregates

KNUST has opened applications for undergraduate degree and top-up programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year. According to the University's official admission notice, applicants with existing examination results and candidates who will write the July/August 2026 WASSCE are eligible to apply, subject to the stated requirements.

However, there is an important point applicants should understand before looking at the figures commonly described online as the “KNUST 2026 cut-off points.”

The latest official KNUST admission requirements document currently available contains a table headed “Cut-Off Aggregates for 2024/2025 Academic Year Admissions.” KNUST explains that these figures are published to guide prospective applicants and that the actual cut-off aggregate can change from one admission year to another depending on examination performance, available spaces and resources.

Therefore, the figures below should be treated as the latest published KNUST cut-off aggregates in the University's official guide, not guaranteed 2026/2027 admission cut-offs.

KNUST 2026 Admission: What Aggregate Do You Need?

For WASSCE applicants, KNUST states that the minimum entry requirement for first-degree programmes is an aggregate of 24 or better in the relevant area of study.

Applicants must have credit passes in:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Integrated Science
  • Three relevant elective subjects

KNUST also explains that admission is competitive because the University determines the number of students it can admit into each programme. Candidates therefore compete for available spaces based on their examination performance.

How KNUST calculates WASSCE aggregates

KNUST's official guide gives the following conversion:

WASSCE Grade SSSCE Equivalent Aggregate Value
         A1 A 1
         B2 B 2
         B3 C 3
         C4 D 4
         C5 D 4
         C6 D 4
KNUST says the cut-off aggregate is not predetermined and may vary from year to year depending on the pass rate and the available space and resources for a programme.

Latest KNUST Cut-Off Aggregates by Programme

The following is the complete cut-off aggregate table published in the April 2026 KNUST admission requirements document. Again, these figures are labelled by KNUST as the cut-offs for the 2024/2025 academic year admissions and are intended as a guide for prospective applicants.

KNUST's document ends the cut-off section with a clear warning that the published aggregates are intended only as a guide to applicants. It also notes that BBA refers to BSc. Business Administration.

Which KNUST Courses Have the Lowest Published Aggregates?

Based on the figures in the official KNUST table, several programmes had a published cut-off aggregate of 06.

They include:

  • BSc. Biomedical Engineering — 06
  • BSc. Computer Engineering — 06
  • BSc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering — 06
  • BSc. Petroleum Engineering — 06
  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery — 06
  • BSc. Human Biology (Medicine) — 06
  • Pharm D — 06
  • LLB — 06
  • Doctor of Optometry — 06

This does not mean that every applicant who obtains an aggregate of 06 will automatically be admitted in 2026/2027. KNUST specifically says admission depends on competition for available places and that cut-off aggregates can change.

What Are the General KNUST Admission Requirements?

For the 2026/2027 admission exercise, KNUST says WASSCE/SSSCE applicants need credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, together with three relevant elective subjects, and an aggregate of 24 or better in the relevant area of study.

KNUST also accepts applicants through other qualification routes, including:

  • WASSCE
  • SSSCE
  • GCE Advanced Level
  • Mature applicants
  • ABCE
  • GBCE
  • International Baccalaureate
  • Other recognised equivalent qualifications
  • Certain HND qualifications

The University also has specific requirements for individual programmes, so meeting the general aggregate requirement alone does not necessarily mean that an applicant qualifies for every course.

KNUST 2026/2027 Application Process

The University's 2026/2027 admission notice says applicants must obtain an e-voucher before beginning the online application.

Option 1 — Online payment

Ghanaian and international applicants can:

  2. Register with a valid email address.
  3. Log in.
  4. Purchase an e-voucher using Mastercard, Visa or Mobile Money.
  5. Proceed with the application.

They should follow the instructions to purchase the voucher through Mobile Money, then visit the KNUST admission portal, register, validate the voucher and continue with the application.

Option 3 — Ghana Post

Ghanaian applicants can also purchase an application voucher from regional or designated Ghana Post offices before proceeding with the online application.

KNUST Application Fees for 2026/2027

For the 2026/2027 academic year, KNUST lists the application processing fees as:

Applicant Fee
Ghanaian applicantsGH¢250
International applicantsUS$100

The official admission notice states that mature and top-up applications, international applications and Ghanaian applications using foreign results have an August 31, 2026 deadline. Ghanaian applicants using WASSCE results can apply until the WASSCE results are released.

Documents Applicants Need

KNUST's admission guide provides a checklist for applicants. Among the documents required are:

  • Examination results
  • Birth certificate
  • Ghana Card or passport
  • Passport photograph with a light-green background
  • Relevant certificates or results slips
  • Other supporting academic documents where applicable

Applicants with qualifications from non-English-speaking countries may also be required to provide evidence of English proficiency.

Applicants using other international high-school qualifications may also be required to have their qualifications evaluated by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and/or another recognised international credential evaluation agency.

Important Things Applicants Should Know

KNUST's admission documentation contains several instructions that applicants should not overlook.

First, applicants should check the specific subject requirements of their preferred programme before making their choices. Having the required aggregate does not automatically qualify someone for every programme. KNUST gives programme-specific subject combinations in its admission guide.

The University also says applicants should properly enter their examination details, including their index number, examination year and examination type. Incorrect or missing information can affect admission consideration.

Applicants should also submit accurate information. KNUST warns that false declarations or withholding relevant information can lead to refusal of admission or withdrawal after enrolment.

The University further states that admissions are administered by its Central Undergraduate Admissions Committee and warns applicants against attempting to influence admission through solicitation.

Does KNUST Guarantee Admission If You Meet the Cut-Off?

No.

This is perhaps the most important point for prospective applicants.

A published cut-off aggregate should be viewed as a guide, not an admission guarantee.

KNUST explains that it determines the quota for each programme and selects candidates to fill the available spaces based on their examination performance. As a result, the aggregate required for a programme can change from one admission cycle to another.

For example, a student should not assume that obtaining the previous published aggregate of 06 for Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy or Law automatically guarantees admission in 2026/2027.

The actual selection depends on the applicant pool, programme capacity, examination results and other applicable admission requirements.

KNUST 2026 Cut-Off Points: The Bottom Line

The KNUST cut-off figures published in the University's official admission requirements document provide a useful reference for students deciding which programmes to apply for.

However, applicants should be careful when seeing websites or social media posts describing these numbers as “confirmed 2026/2027 KNUST cut-off points.”

The official KNUST document currently available identifies the published table as 2024/2025 academic year admissions and explicitly says the figures are intended to guide prospective applicants. KNUST also states that cut-offs can change depending on pass rates and available spaces and resources.

For the 2026/2027 admission exercise, applicants should therefore use these figures as a reference point, while paying close attention to the official KNUST admission requirements and any subsequent announcement from the University.

Students should also make sure their elective subjects match the requirements of the programme they intend to study.
