If you checked your placement on cssps.gov.gh and you are seeing "Not Placed", don't worry. You did not fail your BECE. It simply means that all your first-choice schools are full. You still have a chance to get a school through Self Placement.
According to GES, thousands of students will do self-placement this year. The portal will soon be active at https://cssps.gov.gh/hub/self-placement
How To Do CSSPS Self Placement 2026 Step By Step On Phone
This is the official method. No agent needed. No payment.
Step 1: Go to the official Self Placement portal. The correct link is https://cssps.gov.gh/hub/self-placement - Don't use any other link you see on Facebook.
Step 2: Log in with your BECE index number. Add 26 at the end. Example 1000456789026. Use your date of birth as password.
Step 3: After logging in, click on Self Placement on the dashboard.
Step 4: Select your Region, Residential Status (Day or Boarding), and your Programme. If you chose Science and you see no schools, change to Agricultural Science or Home Economics to see more options.
Step 5: A list of schools with vacancies will show. Choose your preferred school quickly and click Submit. The system is first come, first served.
Step 6: Print your placement slip and your enrolment form. Take it to the school on the reopening date.

Tips to Get a Good School During Self Placement
Do it early morning. Most good schools finish by 10am on the first day. If possible, use a laptop with fast internet, not phone. Don't pay anyone on WhatsApp claiming to help you. Self placement is free on the official portal. You can only select a school once, so think well before you submit.
If after two days you still don't get a school, visit your GES Regional Solution Centre with your result slip and placement printout. They will help you manually.
