Finally! Kudus Returns After 7 Months, But Tottenham Lose Again to Newcastle

Eii, finally ooo, Kudus is back, hurrayy.

After 7 months of sitting at home with injury, our Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus finally played football again. He cam
e on for Tottenham Hotspur in their game against Newcastle United.

The game itself was not good for Tottenham. They lost 2-0 at home. But for Ghanaians, the most important thing is that Kudus is back on the pitch.

He entered the game in the 68th minute. He replaced that young boy Mathys Tel. As soon as he entered, the whole stadium cheered. You could see he was happy to be back.

So what really happened to him?

You remember January 4th? Tottenham vs Sunderland. That day Kudus got a serious injury on his quad. At first they said he will be out for like 6 weeks. We all thought by March he will come.

But in April, the injury got worse. Tottenham said he had a setback and had to see a specialist doctor. Some people said he even did surgery. Because of that, he missed everything. He missed 25 games for Tottenham. He even missed the World Cup for Ghana. That was very painful for him.

Since then he has been doing physio, gym, running alone. He only joined the full Tottenham training 3 days ago. Coach De Zerbi said before the game that Kudus will be on the bench and they will see if he can play some minutes.

And he did. In that 22 minutes he played, he did well. He touched the ball 24 times. He passed 13 times and 11 was correct. He dribbled one player. He had one shot but it was blocked. He is not 100% fit yet, but you could see the Kudus we know is coming back small small.

Tottenham are in trouble

For Tottenham, this season has started very bad. They have lost 2 games in a row. First Brentford beat them 3-0. Now Newcastle has beaten them 2-0 at their own home.

Newcastle's goals were scored by Elanga in the 62nd minute and Yoane Wissa in the 72nd minute. After Wissa scored, Kudus tried to bring Tottenham back but it was too late.

In fact, this is the first time since 1974 - that is 52 years ago - that Tottenham have lost their first two Premier League games. So the pressure is plenty on their new coach Roberto De Zerbi.

What does this mean for Black Stars?

This is the part we Ghanaians care about. Black Stars have two big games next month. On 24th September we will play Ivory Coast away in Bouake, then on 27th we will host Gambia in Kumasi. Those are AFCON 2027 qualifiers and we need to win.

If Kudus can play more games for Tottenham before then and get his full fitness, it will help Otto Addo and the Black Stars a lot. We have missed his creativity.

Tottenham will play Nottingham Forest next weekend. I think Kudus will play more minutes there. Maybe he will even start.

For now, let us just thank God that our star boy is back after 7 months. We missed you Kudus. Welcome back.
