Former President Akufo-Addo has shocked Ghanaians. He turned father of the bride at Bozoma Saint John's wedding. Bozoma is the star from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She is 49, Ghanaian-American, ex-boss at Uber and Netflix. She married her boyfriend Keely Watson at Akufo-Addo's house in Nima, Accra on August 21.
Why Akufo-Addo? Bozoma's real father could not travel. His health is not good. In Akan tradition, you need a father to receive the groom's family. So Bozoma called Nana Addo, her former boss and friend. He agreed. I watched the video. Akufo-Addo was sitting, receiving the marriage. Rebecca Akufo-Addo was beside him. It was emotional. A family source said "Such relationships, may we nurture them."
This was a big wedding. Almost 1000 guests! About 250 people flew from US and UK. Who came? From Ghana, Samira Bawumia, Cheddar, Tiwa Savage, KiDi, Gyakie, King Promise, Majid Michel, Joselyn Dumas. Bozoma said they will do white wedding in LA on Nov 21. But she wanted Ghana first. Ghana is home. She took Ghana citizenship in 2022. She met Keely and after 2 dates, she invited him to Ghana for one month. He came! One year later he also became Ghanaian.
